He has conducted comparative studies and assessments of London and New York, the United Kingdom and Spain, the United Kingdom and Canada, and the United Kingdom and China. He fosters strategic partnerships between cities as well as between global corporations and global cities. He has trained top executives from Siemens, Microsoft, Linklaters, and EDF Energy on leadership. He has given city and metropolitan staff briefings for Grosvenor, PWC, and Barclays Bank. He has spoken to and counseled business executives in London, New York, Paris, Hong Kong, Milan, Turin, Mumbai, Buenos Aires, Auckland, Toronto, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and Glasgow. From 1988 to 2006, he held various positions such as Lead Advisor on City and Regional Development, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, UK Government, Executive Director of Strategy and Communications, London Development Agency, Managing Director, Economic Development, at Greater London Enterprise, Chief Executive of the London Enterprise Agency: One London, and International Programmes Director.
