Grace Coddington resigned down as the creative director of American Vogue at the start of 2016. She was promoted to creative director-at-large, a newly established position that allowed her to engage on outside projects for the first time since joining the newspaper in 1988.
Coddington told BoF, "I'm not running away from Vogue since it has opened so many possibilities." “However, it will be enjoyable to collaborate, as well as to go out and deliver presentations to people.” Coddington began her modeling career in the swinging 1960s in London. She was included in Vogue's "young ideas" section after winning a modeling competition.
