Dr. G.P. Bud Peterson is Georgia Institute of Technology's eleventh president. In this role, he is in charge of a top-ten public research institution with over 21,000 students and over $600 million in sponsored money. Dr.
Peterson has taken an active role in helping to create national education and research agendas throughout his career, participating on various business, government, and academic task groups and committees. Dr. Peterson, a prominent scientist, was appointed to the National Science Board by President George W. Bush in 2008 and will serve through 2014.
