Gorden Wagener Biography

Gorden Wagener has been the global operating design unit of Mercedes-Benz and all Daimler AG brands since mid-2008. With effect from November 2016, he has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Design Officer. Design, in his opinion, defines brands, and a comprehensive approach is required. Daimler AG's goods, as well as its brands, must be staged flawlessly. As a result, he and his worldwide team are in charge of the design of all Daimler AG brands and products, including all automobiles and a holistic corporate design for all brands. He concentrated in Transportation Design at The Royal College of Art in London after studying Industrial Design at the University of Essen (1990–1993). He worked as an external designer for many firms until joining Mercedes-Benz in 1997. Professor Honoris Causa was bestowed upon him by Budapest's Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in 2009. He received an honorary doctorate from the Technical University of Sofia in 2010.
