Glynis D. Wallace Biography

Dr. Glynis D. Wallace Born in Midland, Texas, with an unique goal to serve the nation. I received a BS degree in Zoology from California State University Long Beach in 1981 and then worked in medical research for two years. I enrolled in Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1988. (DMD). I worked in private practice for three years before joining the US Public Health Service as a commissioned officer in 1991 and completing a range of postings. (Catamenial Hemopneumothorax/Colon Endometriosis was diagnosed.) I worked at the Federal Correctional Institutes at Big Spring, Texas, Terminal Island, California, Greenville, Illinois, and Tsaile, Arizona, before joining the Indian Health Service. I received the United States Public Health Service/Department of Health and Human Services Achievement Medal in 1995, the Unit Commendation Medal in 1995, the Isolated Hardship Ribbon in 1994, and the Hazardous Duty Service Ribbon in 1992. I joined the US Air Force in 1997, and my first tour of duty was at Osan AB in South Korea. (Catamenial Pneumothorax was diagnosed) In 1998, I was sent to Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a three-month deployment to Cairo, Egypt. (Catamenial Hemopneumothorax with Loculated Catamenial Hemopneumothorax) In 2000, I was posted to Osan AB, South Korea (Catamenial Hemoptysis), then in May 2001, I was sent to Los Angeles AFB, where I concluded my final tour of service with the Air Force. (Catamenial and Tension Pneumothorax) I received the Air Force Commendation Medal, the First Oak Leaf Cluster in 1998 and 2000, and the Air Force Achievement Medal in 2001. In 2003, I started a dentistry business, married a beautiful man in 2004, and in 2005, I published my book Living With Lung and Colon Endometriosis: Catamenial Pneumothorax. In September 2005, she was nominated for International Health Professional of the Year 2006 at the IBC in Cambridge, England. Endometriosis migration to the lung and colon is not uncommon, although it is underdiagnosed and underreported. My aim is to raise awareness of this benign condition among all women, the men who love them, and the doctors who treat them.
