Glenn Hall, dubbed Mr. Goalie for his steady and long-term performance in the National Hockey League, was the man for the job. Hall was a familiar and terrifying image in nets around the globe year after year. In his 18 NHL seasons, he never missed a game or an award, and just four times did he end a season with a losing record. His 84 career shutouts, which placed him third all-time in the NHL, ensured his position in the Hall of Fame as one of the game's finest goaltenders. Hall was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in 1951 after playing junior hockey with the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey Association. He spent two seasons in their farm system, with the Flyers in Edmonton and the Capitols in Indianapolis. He made his NHL debut with Detroit in 1952-53, appearing in six games and surrendering only 1.67 goals against. He spent the following two years with Edmonton, only appearing twice more with the Wings in 1955.
