Glen Wood, a former NASCAR racer from Stuart, Virginia, was born on July 18, 1925. In 1953, he and his brother Leonard Wood co-founded the famed Wood Brothers Racing team, and throughout his eleven-year racing career, they won four races. He was honored as one of NASCAR's 50 Greatest Drivers in 1998.
Wood was elected to the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame in 1996. Wood will be inducted into the 2012 NASCAR Hall of Fame on January 20, 2012, according to an announcement made on June 14, 2011.
