Kirby Campbell (drums/samples/vocals), Taylor Guarisco (guitar/vocals), Tif Lamson (vocals/percussion/ukulele), Josh Leblanc (bass), and William Henderson (synths/samples/vocals) founded Lafayette, Louisiana-based indie rockers the Givers in the late 2000s.
The band's self-described "Afro-beat, dancey pants, indie pop love music," which depends largely on the passionate back-and-forth vocals of Lamson and Guarisco, has been likened to bands such as Vampire Weekend, Dirty Projectors, and Mates of State. Valcour Records released the group's self-titled debut EP in 2009.
