Giulio Boccaletti serves public and private sector institutions on issues of regulatory strategy and growth, focusing on resource economics. He has worked with a broad range of institutions, including financial businesses, large manufacturing companies seeking growth in resource-constrained markets, and multilateral institutions and individual governments achieving sector transformation. Boccaletti leads McKinsey's work on water economics and is a member of McKinsey's Climate Change Special Initiative leadership group. He has published and presented on carbon economics and the role of smart infrastructure in resource constrained economies. He leads McKinsey's Global Water Resources Initiative, which he co-founded in 2007. Before joining McKinsey, he was a scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specializing in geophysical fluid dynamics and climate science.
Boccaletti holds a master's degree in theoretical physics from the University of Bologna, Italy, and master's and doctoral degrees in atmospheric and oceanic sciences from Princeton University. He was a visiting Business Fellow at the University of Oxford, U.K., and a NASA Earth Systems Science Fellow.
