She presently resides in Santa Monica, California, and formerly worked for Martha Stewart Living as the assistant editor of gardening, weddings, and style. Gia traveled the country with Martha Stewart, giving wedding advice to women and their families.
Michele and Gia rapidly saw the market's potential and gaps. Michele and Gia struck out on their own in 1999, relocating to Los Angeles and establishing their firm, MiGi, a combination of their first names. They wrote two novels together, Wedding Showers and Baby Showers.
