Gayathri Ramprasad Biography

A nonprofit organization promoting organizational, personal and community wellness known as ASHA International is founded by Gayatgei Ramprasad who also serves as the President. The book, Shadows in the Sun: Healing from Depression and Finding the Light Within was written by her. She learnt the power of hope and holistic wellness during her recovery after overcoming a life-threatening mental illness and she’s happy to share this message with others. With a massive message of hope and healing, Ramprasad’s cultural competence trainings, wellness workshops and keynotes have reached over 30,000 people nationally and internationally since the launch of ASHA International’s wellness campaign, Healthy Minds, Healthy Lives in 2006. As an agent of transformational change and hope, many organizations and individuals continuously praise Gayathri. At Bangalore University in India, Ramprasad earned her very first undergraduate degree in science. She earned a second undergraduate degree in management and information systems from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon and also a master’s in business administration. Ramprasad won the Voice Award for Consumer Leadership sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. She is also a winner of the prestigious Eli Lilly Welcome Back Award for Lifetime Achievement, the winner of the 2008 Outstanding Alumna Award from her alma mater George Fox University; and a member of the Global Speakers Federation. Ramprasad presented “Be The Hope,”a TEDx talk in May 2015. She is a recognized Certified Peer Specialist (CPS).
