When Sohmers was 13 years old, he started pursuing military research at MIT, but he quickly discovered a penchant for developing high-performance, low-cost computer systems. He founded REX to construct massively parallel and high-density computing systems using tightly packed low-power chips as a recipient of the 2013 Peter Thiel '20 under 20' Fellowship.
