Mr. Gary Erickson is the Founder, Co-Owner, and Co-CEO of Clif Bar & Company. Mr. Erickson is hailed nationally as a visionary entrepreneur who believes there is more to business than the bottom line—despite the fact that his company, Clif Bar Inc., has done well by the bottom line, having been named to Inc. magazine's list of the fastest-growing companies in the United States four years in a row. In 1986, he co-founded Kali's Bakery in Emeryville, California, which manufactured and marketed calzones and gourmet cookies. Kali's presented the first Clif Bars to the public in 1992. Since high school, he has been cooking and baking under the careful eyes of his mother and grandmother. He spent a decade supervising the design and manufacture of bicycle saddles before founding Kali's and subsequently Clif Bar Inc. His art received high appreciation and was displayed in New York's Museum of Modern Art. He built his ideal career with Clif Bar Inc., combining his love of the outdoors, cycling, business, delicious food, and social responsibility. He works hard to communicate that vision with his workers and the general public, as well as to provide a good example for other businesses to consider social responsibility as part of their purpose. His vision is evident in the company's usage of all-natural products as well as its significant contributions to several causes and non-profit organizations. He graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a business degree.
