Gabrielle Fitzgerald is the head of the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation's Ebola initiative, where she leads Allen's $100 million investment to battle the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. She formerly worked as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's director of global program advocacy. Fitzgerald spearheaded efforts to raise $1.3 billion to address global health issues in that capacity. She also supervised the 2013 Global Vaccine Summit in Abu Dhabi, which brought together global leaders and stakeholders who pledged $4 billion to eradicate polio by 2018. She formerly worked for the United States Agency for International Development, where she directed public affairs strategy for the world's largest donor of HIV/AIDS initiatives. Fitzgerald began her career in the White House as a copywriter for President Bill Clinton. She has a B.A. from American University and a master's degree in public administration from Syracuse University's Maxwell School.
