Fredrik Logevall is a Swedish-American historian, professor, and author specializing in U.S. foreign policy and the Vietnam War. A native of Stockholm, he moved to Vancouver, Canada, as a child and later became a U.S. citizen. He earned a B.A. from Simon Fraser University, an M.A. from Yale University, and a Ph.D. from Yale. Logevall is the Laurence D.
Belfer Professor of International Affairs at Harvard University’s Kennedy School and a history professor at Harvard. His Pulitzer Prize-winning book, “Embers of War: The Fall of an Empire and the Making of America’s Vietnam” (2012), examines the roots of U.S. involvement in Vietnam.
