International Obesity and Diabetes Authority Dr. Francine Kaufman is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine and the Director of the Center for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Since 1980, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has sponsored Dr.
Kaufman's research, which focuses on various facets of diabetes, including prevention, treatment, and complications. She is now the head of the NIH-funded STOPP-T2 studies, which are looking into methods to prevent and cure Type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents (The TODAY study).
