Forrest Maltzman is the senior vice provost for academic affairs and planning and professor of political science. Prior to assuming a role in the provost’s office he was the chair of GW’s nationally ranked political science department.
The political science department has over forty tenure track faculty approximately 650 majors and a graduate program with a census of close to 90. Maltzman joined the GW faculty in 1993. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and his B.A. degree from Wesleyan University in Connecticut.
