Fences is a Seattle, Washington-based four-piece indie rock band. Fences is a song written by Christopher Mansfield, a Seattle native and Berklee College of Music alumnus. Sara Quin of the renowned Canadian indie band Tegan & Sara discovered his EP on MySpace in 2009, and she ended up producing, recording, and adding vocals to his debut album.
SPIN Magazine's year-end list of Albums You Might Have Missed in 2010 included the first album. Fences toured in support of Against Me! in late 2010 and early 2011. Hellogoodbye will kick up their new tour in July 2011. Macklemore, Mansions, and Sabzi are among the Seattle-based performers with whom the band has cooperated.
