Rohatyn rose to worldwide prominence when he was summoned to save New York just before The New York Times published its iconic headline, Ford to Metropolis: Drop Dead. Rohatyn designed and executed the clever multi-billion dollar strategy that spared America's largest city from financial collapse.
Rohatyn, one of the world's most innovative and prominent economists, has served on the Board of Governors of the New York Stock Exchange as well as the boards of directors of several multinational firms. During a period of considerable instability in the 1970s, he chaired the NYSE Crisis Committee, which worked to obtain finance to keep tottering enterprises from collapsing.
