Fay Presto Biography

Fay Presto was born on May 17, 1948, in England. She didn't start performing until she was in her mid-thirties. However, prior to her triumph, she bounced around from one job to the next, from a laboratory assistant at the Atomic Energy Research Establishment Harwell to the fashion industry. She made the decision to pursue a career in the entertainment sector. She took up magic and changed her identity to Fay Presto after failing to carry a song in the singing category, eventually becoming Britain's top female magician (The Independent, July 2005). On five occasions, she has been personally invited to perform in front of Her Majesty The Queen, as well as entertain every other senior member of the Royal family. Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, Madonna, and Michael Caine are just a handful of the luminaries Fay has played for. Fay was named Party Entertainer of the Year by Tatler Magazine in 1998, and in 2001, she had the honor of portraying herself in ITV's 'Emmerdale,' a role previously held by only the Prince of Wales in 'Coronation Street.' Fay's other television appearances include Paul Daniel's Secrets, Trick on 2, The Late Late Show, Hero's of Magic, and Illusions of Grandeur, a documentary on her life, which was one of the most popular '40 Minutes' the BBC has ever broadcast. Fay was most recently seen on CNN International's 'Quest for Magic,' alongside famed illusionist David Copperfield. Fay has worked as an in-house magician at Marco Pierre White's Criterion Brasserie and at Langan's Brasserie in London's West End for over 15 years. Fay is a supporter of Dreamflight, a UK organization that sends very sick children to Florida for a "vacation of a lifetime." She is also the Vice President of NCH, a major children's charity in the UK that helps children reach their full potential. Fay may be found dazzling and delighting guests at Drone's and Marco Pierre White's 'Frankies' when she is not entertaining at business or private occasions.
