Fatimah Asghar is a poet, screenwriter, educator, and performer who travels around the country. POETRY Magazine, Gulf Coast, BuzzFeed Reader, The Margins, The Offing, Academy of American Poets, and many more have published her work. Her work has appeared on PBS, NPR, Time, Teen Vogue, Huffington Post, and other venues.
While studying theater in post-genocidal nations on a Fulbright in 2011, she founded REFLEKS, a spoken word poetry ensemble in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She is a member of the Dark Noise Collective, as well as a recipient of the Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellowship in 2017 and a Kundiman Fellow.
