Father Michael Lapsley is a social justice campaigner and an Anglican clergyman from South Africa. He was born on June 2, 1949, in New Zealand, and was ordained a priest in Australia, where he also joined the Society of the Sacred Mission.

In 1993, he became the Chaplain of Cape Town's Trauma Centre for Victims of Violence and Torture, which aided the country's Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC). The Institute for Healing of Memories (IHOM) was founded in Cape Town in 1998 as a result of this effort.
