Dr. Emanuel is the Chair of the National Institutes of Health's Clinical Center's Department of Bioethics. He's also a breast cancer specialist. He obtained his M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Oxford University after graduating from Amherst College. He graduated from Harvard Medical School with an M.D. and Harvard University with a Ph.D. in political philosophy.
His dissertation was named the Best Political Science Dissertation of the Year by the Toppan Award Committee. He was a fellow at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government's Program in Ethics and the Professions from 1987 to 88. Dr.
