Evy Hambro, managing director, is the chief investment officer of BlackRock's alpha strategies Group's natural resources equities division. BGF global mining, BGF world gold, BlackRock gold, and general fund, and BlackRock world mining trust are all under his supervision. He also manages a variety of segregated portfolios and is co-manager of BlackRock's natural resources hedge fund.
He's a member of the operating committee as well. Mr. Hambro joined the business in 1994 and previously worked for Mercury Asset Management and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. Mr. Hambro graduated with honors from Newcastle University with a BSc in agricultural food marketing in 1994.
