After meeting in their early teens at a youth camp, Amy Lee and guitarist/songwriter Ben Moody established the band around the end of the 1990s, according to Moody. Amy was playing 'I'd Do Anything for Love' by Meat Loaf on the piano. So I went over to introduce myself, and she began singing for me.
I was really blown away, so I persuaded her to join a band with me. Evanescence did not play live as a duet, instead of focusing on EPs and the full-length Origin. Lee told the BBC that she and Evanescence were processing tracks in Memphis, Tennessee when producer Pete Matthews found them.
