Evan Osnos is a critically acclaimed American journalist and author renowned for his insightful reporting on geopolitics and cultural shifts, particularly in the U.S. and China. Born in London but raised in Greenwich, Connecticut, Osnos graduated from Harvard University with a degree in government and wrote for the Harvard Crimson.

His journalism career began at the Chicago Tribune, covering 9/11 and the Iraq War, before serving as Beijing bureau chief from 2005 to 2008, contributing to a 2008 Pulitzer Prize-winning series. At The New Yorker, his China coverage earned two Overseas Press Club awards and the Osborn Elliott Prize. Osnos has explored American politics, profiling figures like Joe Biden and Xi Jinping, and reporting on North Korea’s 2017 nuclear crisis and the January 6 Capitol siege. He co-hosts The New Yorker’s “Political Scene” podcast and regularly appears on NPR and PBS.
