Ernesto Talvi is a nonresident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution's Latin America Initiative and Global Economy and Development program. He is also the academic director of the Center for Economic and Social Affairs (CERES) in Montevideo, Uruguay, as well as a Tinker visiting professor at Columbia University in New York.
His research focuses on macroeconomics in developing countries, with a particular focus on Latin America, stabilization programs, fiscal policy, capital flows, and the global economic crisis. Dr. Talvi has a strong background in economic policy.
