Erminio Pinque is founder and director of Big Nazo Lab a larger-than-life sized audience interactive international touring troupe and creature-making studio based in downtown Providence RI that employs a variety of puppet mask and wearable sculpture techniques to create mobile spectacles and alien configurations.Erminio and the Big Nazo staff have constructed and animated original characters for countless stage productions parades TV projects and festive extravaganzas throughout the US and overseas stretching as far and wide as Singapore Scotland Indonesia Portugal Japan Canada Italy and Holland.The Big Nazo Group has appeared on several Nickelodeon television shows constructed gigantic puppets for the Broadway show “Jackie” at the Belasco Theatre and the Queen’s Theatre in London and conducted massive daily parades at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Erminio presented his work at the View Special Effects Film Industry Conference in October 2011.In addition to performing throughout RI and at festivals around the world Erminio & the Big Nazo crew form creative collaborations with students and the local community by hosting internships at the Big Nazo Lab in downtown Providence and conducting Creature Creation mask-making mural and video artist-in-residency workshops throughout New England.
