Kennedy has been an anchor/reporter for WKYC-TV in Cleveland, Ohio, since December 2011, where she was the station's primary anchor/reporter during the station's coverage of the Cleveland abduction victims. Kennedy and her colleagues also received an Emmy and a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for their coverage of the Chardon School massacre while working at WKYC.
From 2005 until 2011, Kennedy worked as an anchor/reporter at WPRI and WNAC-TV in Providence, Rhode Island. She began her career as a weekend evening anchor before being elevated to anchor/reporter for the stations' nightly evening newscasts in 2006. She was also the producer and host of WPRI-Webcast TV's en Espaol, an online broadcast in Spanish.
