As an adolescent she moved on to advertisements for hair-care products and motorcycles.

In 1982 she had an uncredited role as a child in the blockbuster sci-fi hit E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982). In high school her life took a turn for the worse as she plunged into a world of drugs and alcohol.
