Eric C. Wiseman is the chairman, president, and CEO of VF Corporation, an $11 billion company that specializes in branded lifestyle clothing and footwear. VFC is the parent business of more than 30 well-known brands and is headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina. The North Face, Wrangler, Timberland, Vans, and Lee are the company's top five brands; others include 7 For All Mankind, Eagle Creek, Eastpak, Ella Moss, JanSport, Kipling, Majestic, Napapijri, Nautica, Reef, Riders, Splendid, and Smartwool. Wiseman has worked in the garment sector for 35 years. He joined VF as executive vice president of JanSport in 1995, and he has been with the firm ever since. He progressed through the ranks of VF, eventually becoming chairman of the Sportswear and Outdoor alliances and executive vice president of Global Brands. In 2006, he was named president and chief operating officer of VF Corporation, as well as being elected to the board of directors of the company. In January 2008, Wiseman was named CEO, and in August 2008, he was made Chairman of the Board. Wiseman graduated from Wake Forest University with a bachelor's degree in business and an MBA. He is a member of the boards of directors for Lowe's Companies Inc., CIGNA Corporation, and the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), as well as the Wake Forest University School of Business's board of visitors.
