Eric Roberson Biography

Eric Roberson is a Rahway, New Jersey-based singer, songwriter, and producer. He is sometimes known as simply as Erro, a moniker he used for his label Blue Erro Soul later on. In 1994, Warner Bros. Records published his debut song, The Moon, and he recorded an album for the company that was never released. He got a songwriting agreement with the EMI label while studying Musical Theatre at Howard University and performing in a variety of musicals and plays. He went on to collaborate with Philadelphia-based musicians like Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, and, most notably, DJ Jazzy Jeff. Roberson contributed to Jeff's debut album, The Magnificent, in 2002 as a member of Jeff's A Touch of the Jazz production business. He continues to write songs while also releasing his own music on his Blue Erro Soul label. In 2006, he was also included on DJ Spinna's Intergalactic Soul LP. Roberson received two Grammy nominations for Best Urban/Alternative Performance. In 2010 and a year later, he was nominated for two songs from his 2009 album Music Fan First- A Tale of Two and Still in the same category. Roberson's I Have A Song was chosen as the fundraising song, which was produced by Jak Beula and released in February 2016, to help fund the permanent construction of the UK's first dedicated Commonwealth war monument honoring African and Caribbean servicemen and women who served in both World Wars.
