Eric Dickerson Biography

Eric Dickerson is a professional football running back who spent eleven seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Dickerson was an All-American college football player for the SMU Mustangs of Southern Methodist University. He was drafted first overall in the 1983 NFL Draft and went on to play for the Los Angeles Rams, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Raiders, and Atlanta Falcons. He ran for over 13,000 yards in the NFL throughout his career. In 1984, he established the NFL single-season running record of 2,105 yards. Dickerson was honored with a Pro Football Hall of Fame induction in 1999. Dickerson is currently the L.A. Rams' Vice President of Business Development. With former Los Angeles Rams colleague LeRoy Irvin, he founded Original Mini Jerseys, a sports memorabilia firm. In 2006, the firm was granted an NFL license to sell authentic miniature replica jerseys. He also runs E Champs, an internet-based athletic products firm. Dickerson also works for Fox Sports' FS1 as an NFL commentator.
