Eric Corey Freed is the Principal of organic ARCHITECT, a California-based architectural and consulting business with almost 20 years of green construction experience. At the Academy of Art University and the University of California Berkeley Extension, Eric co-created the Sustainable Design curriculum. He serves on the boards of ADPSR, Green Home Guide, and West Coast Green, as well as the advisory boards of over a dozen additional organizations. He was one of the founders of ecoTECTURE: The Online Journal of Ecological Design and the inaugural Chair of Architecture at The San Francisco Design Museum. He writes for GreenerBuildings.com, Luxe, Natural Home, Metropolitan Home, and hundreds of other magazines on a regular basis. Eric speaks at over 40 conferences a year, and his work has appeared in publications such as Dwell, Metropolis, Town & Country, Natural Home, and Newsweek. He has been on Fox News, HGTV, The Sundance Channel, and PBS, among others. Eric was hailed as one of the true minds of his age by famous architect and critic Philip Johnson while he was only 25 years old. Eric is carrying on the legacy of "Organic Architecture," which was pioneered by Frank Lloyd Wright. Eric is the author of four books, including the best-selling Green Building & Remodeling for Dummies (John Wiley & Sons), which has sold 100,000 copies. Sustainable School Architecture and Green$ense for Your Home, his most recent publications, were published in 2010. Eric is regarded as a pioneer in the sector, having been voted Best Green Architect in 2005 by San Francisco Magazine, Best Visionary in 2007, and Green Visionary by 7x7 Magazine in 2008.
