Eric Coffman Biography

Eric Coffman is head of the Office of Energy and Sustainability within the Montgomery County Department of General Services.
The Office of Energy and Sustainability (OES) focuses on reducing the environmental footprint of County operations through renewable energy purchasing energy efficiency greening government initiatives. OES is also responsible for coordinating these issues amongst County Departments and Agencies (DGS).
Coffman joined DGS to establish OES after seven years with the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection.
While with DEP Eric was responsible for overseeing a wide array of energy and greenhouse gas reduction programs. His broader background includes private and public sector experience with energy water forest conservation environmental health and safety outreach communications energy financing and other activities.
Coffman is a Certified Energy Manager Certified Energy Procurement Professional and a United States Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional.
