Eric Cervini is an award-winning American historian, author, and producer specializing in LGBTQ+ politics and culture, graduating summa cum laude from Harvard College in 2014 with a degree in history. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in 2019 as a Gates Cambridge Scholar, researching gender and sexuality in ancient societies after initial studies at Emmanuel College.
Cervini’s debut book,” The Deviant’s War: The Homosexual vs. the United States of America” (2020), a New York Times bestseller and Pulitzer finalist, chronicles activist Frank Kameny’s fight against gay persecution before Stonewall, drawing on declassified FBI files and 40,000 personal documents. It won the Randy Shilts Award and was named a New York Times Editors’ Choice.
