Emily White Biography

Emily White is an American technology professional and the president of Anthos Capital, a consumer-focused private equity and venture capital firm. She is the former CEO of Snapchat Inc. and the previous head of business operations at Instagram. White was Snapchat's COO from 2013 to 2015, when she stepped down to concentrate on other initiatives. White started Mave, a personal concierge business, in 2016. She has been on the board of directors of Hyperloop One, a transportation technology firm. Emily has spent the previous two decades assisting in the development and operation of some of technology's most well-known firms, including Google, Facebook, Instagram, and Snap. Emily is now the president of Anthos Capital, a Los Angeles-based investment business. Emily also serves on the boards of and advises companies such as lululemon, a publicly traded athletic apparel retailer, Zayo, a publicly traded communications infrastructure company, X-Prize, a non-profit dedicated to developing industry-changing technology that brings us closer to a sustainable world, Virgin Hyperloop One, a privately held company out to reinvent transportation, and Graco, a 100-year-old public manufacturer. She is also an adviser and past board member of the National Center for Women in I.T., a non-profit alliance aiming to enhance girls' and women's engagement in computers and technology. Emily is a wife, a mother, an artist, a horseback rider, a terrible guitarist, and a breast cancer survivor. Emily was the COO of Snapchat, Inc. before joining Anthos. Emily formerly worked at Facebook, where she held numerous critical positions, most notably overseeing business operations at Instagram, where she created and implemented monetization. Emily worked at Google (employee 200) from 2001 until 2010, where she was in charge of North America online sales and operations, Asia Pacific and Latin America online sales and operations, and the emerging companies channel. Emily has a BA from Vanderbilt University and lives in Los Angeles with her husband, three children, and several animals.
