“What exactly is music?” This was the question scribbled in black marker on the whiteboard kept at their Huntington Beach crash pad by brothers Keaton and Wesley Stromberg (16 and 19 years old) and childhood buddy Drew Chadwick (20).
This whiteboard had functioned as the trio's creative nerve center, where they had planned out songs, established objectives, and written inspirational slogans. They were coming up with a new band name when the term "Emblem" came to them as something timeless and iconic.
