Elyes Gabel was born in London and has lived in Canada Bristol and Manchester. He attended St. Damian's RC science college in Ashton-Under-Lyne. Gabel trained at Strodes College the Oldham Theatre Workshop and the Northern Kids Theatre Company. He is a keen sportsman and enjoys tennis and football.
In an interview with British magazine Take It Easy Gabel stated that he had touches of Indian in himself.He dropped out of drama school to play the part of the mummy Nuff in the children's television show I Love Mummy. He has also participated in theater productions such as West Side Story Oliver! and Diary of Anne Frank.
