Born on March 27 1970 in Los Angeles California Elizabeth Mitchell grew up in Dallas Texas where her parents have their own real estate and tax law firm. She is the oldest of three daughters and is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.
She went on to earn her BFA degree in Acting from Stephens College. She also studied at the British American Drama Academy and spent 6 years at the Dallas Theatre Center and one year with the theater's Encore Company.
