Elijah Mayfield is the founder and CEO of LightSide a company that is enabling broad access to writing across the curriculum in education using text assessment powered by machine learning. He received his master’s degree in language technology from Carnegie Mellon University and he was a recipient of a 2011 Siebel Scholarship and a 2013 IBM Ph.D. Fellowship.

He also is an author or co-author on more than 25 peer-reviewed publications on language technologies in leading international venues.
