Dr. Aboujaoude is the Director of the Impulse Control Disorders Clinic and the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Clinic at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he is also a psychiatrist and author. Obsessive-compulsive disorder and behavioral addictions, particularly problematic Internet usage, have been the focus of his study.
He has a number of papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has also written for the lay press on similar themes. Virtually You: The Dangerous Powers of the E-Personality is his new book. He's also the co-editor of the scholarly book Impulse Control Disorders and the author of Compulsive Acts: A Psychiatrist's Tales of Ritual and Obsession.
