Elena Sigman is no stranger to the challenges that involvement in the criminal justice system creates for people. In 2011 she joined the Prisoner Reentry Institute—an initiative hosted at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York to connect returning citizens to career opportunities and support.
Prior to that Sigman worked with the NYC Justice Corps and the Women’s Prison Association among other nonprofit initiatives. Now at PRI she’s heading up Tech 101: a first-of-its-kind initiative to teach formerly incarcerated people the basics of technology.
