Ehud Olmert, one of Israel's most powerful and renowned leaders, became Prime Minister with a bold vision: attaining prosperity through peace. Olmert began his public service career at the age of 28 when he was elected to the state assembly as a member of the Foreign Affairs, Defense, Finance, and Education Committees, as well as the Minister of Health.
Even before his first public election, Olmert had obtained three degrees from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in philosophy, psychology, and law; worked as a journalist and military reporter for the Israel Defense Forces; and led a successful law firm in Jerusalem. The publishing of Olmert's memoirs in Israel recently made international news.
