The Prince and Miss Sophie Rhys-Jones announced their engagement on January 6, 1999, and married on June 19, 1999, in St George's Chapel. When Prince Edward married the Countess of Wessex, he became Earl of Wessex and Viscount Severn. In their separate enterprises, they want to be recognized as Edward Wessex and Sophie Wessex.
Edward Antony Richard Louis was born on March 10, 1964, and graduated from Jesus College, Cambridge, with a Bachelor of Arts in 1986. He then joined the Royal Marines for a regular military tour of service, momentarily putting his genuine loves, acting and the entertainment business, on hold.
