Edward Rogoff Biography

Edward G. Rogoff is a professor and chair of the Zicklin School of Business's Department of Management at Baruch College, The City University of New York. He graduated from Columbia University with a B.A., M.B.A., M.A., and Ph.D., and did his dissertation under the guidance of Noble Laureate William Vickery. Dr. Rogoff is also the Academic Director of the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship, which is one of the country's largest and most prestigious entrepreneurship programs. He teaches and does research in the field of entrepreneurship, with a focus on minority and later-life concerns. He has taught a wide range of entrepreneurship courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and has received awards for teaching quality. Rogoff was a successful media entrepreneur who founded organizations that operated 23 radio stations across the United States. He is the co-author of The Entrepreneurial Conversation and the author of more than fifty publications, including Bankable Business Plans. Journals such as The Journal of Business and Entrepreneurship, The Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship, Family Business Review, and Journal of Small Business Management have published his work. Dr. Rogoff has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Business Venturing and the Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship as a guest co-editor. He has contributed to the New York Times, Forbes, and Newsday, as well as appearing on CNN as a guest.
