Hallowell, a graduate of Harvard College and Tulane Medical School, as well as a Harvard residency and fellowship in adult and child psychiatry, spent 20 years on the faculty of Harvard Medical School before retiring to devote his full professional time to see sick people, writing books, and giving workshops and tutorials.
