Edna Campbell, a 5'8" guard for the Sacramento Monarchs in the WNBA, is most known for continuing her basketball career after being diagnosed with breast cancer. The Phoenix Mercury picked her as the 10th overall pick in the 1999 draught, but she was left unprotected in the expansion draught the following year, and the Seattle Storm took her.
She quickly established herself as the new franchise's go-to player, but she was sent to the Sacramento Monarchs after the club concluded with a 6-26 record. Campbell was diagnosed with breast cancer during the second of her four seasons in Sacramento.
