Edi Rama is an Albanian politician, artist, and writer who has served as the country's Prime Minister since 2013. Since 2005, he has also served as the leader of Albania's Socialist Party. Rama was Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports in the government from 1998 to 2000, and Mayor of Tirana from 2000 to 2011.
He led a coalition of socialist and left-wing parties to victory in the legislative election of June 2013, beating Prime Minister Sali Berisha's conservative alliance.
