Ed Gavagan is the founder of PraxisNYC, a boutique residential design studio that focuses on sustainability, habitability, durability, and aesthetics. Gavagan recounted the narrative Drowning on Sullivan Street at the Moth, a series devoted to stories read live without notes, on his near-death experience as a victim of a gang initiation rite on the streets of New York in 2007.
His stories have been broadcast on NPR and the Moth podcast, and he has performed with The Moth live at venues around the United States. Gavagan, his wife, and their daughter live in New York City.
